  • 200 gms Water

How To Make Moong Dal Halwa:

  1. Wash and soak the dal for 4 – 5 hours then strain it during a colander. Let all the water drain away.
  2. Now grind it to a paste during a mixer without adding water. it's IMPORTANT to notice that the dal should be grinded coarsely. this may offer you the grainy crunchy texture. The mixture shouldn't be very fine.
  3. Now during a pan boil sugar and water. Let the sugar dissolve . Give one boil and begin the gas.
  4. during a heavy bottom kadai heat the ghee and reduce the flame to low. Then add the grinded dal mixture.
  5. Keep stirirng it constantly. confirm the mixture doesn't stick with rock bottom in any case . If required add more ghee, is that the quantity of ghee is a smaller amount then halwa sticks to the bottom . This halwa definetely requires many ghee. So be happy to feature more ghee.
  6. Once nicely done (bhuno) an exquisite aroma fills up the whole house and golden texture is there.
  7. Now add the syrup and while stirring continously let the water evaporate. Very soon the the halwa will get thick. Keep stirring continously.
  8. Add the sliced dry fruits.
  9. Cook the halwa till the halwa begins to go away the edges of the kadhai.
  10. Now add the khoya and blend well and let it cook for five mins on low flame.
  11. Dish out the halwa and garnish with sliced dry fruits.
